a seminary student’s babbling…

Hello world!

I decided to leave the pretentious title, especially since I’m sure only about 5 random strangers will stumble across this. But, I would like to say that, two or more years too late, I gave in and got a blog.

So, here it is. I don’t know what I’ll put here. Scot McKnight, who’s blog and books I read all the time (yet has no idea of my existence), says that good bloggers post on a variety of subjects. Also, Josh Brown, a friend whose blog I read all the time, says that posts about what you had for dinner are worthless (point #7), and I would agree.

So, I don’t want to be overly narcissistic, nor overly shallow, nor overly narrow in scope. Wow, those aren’t short orders in the least. But, I don’t think I’ll be giving out this blogsite too often, if at all. This is more for me. I wanted a place to put my thoughts so I don’t feel like exploding all the time and so a book can be written about me if I die, but I’m too cheap to buy a journal, diaries are for chicks, and my handwriting sucks anyway.

So there. If you’re here and I know you, don’t take offense to my not telling you about this. If you’re here and I don’t know you, welcome to it. I hate when people beg for comments, but I [try] to welcome constructive criticism, even of my personal thoughts. Feel free.

  1. welcome to the frontier of the wild, wild, blog-o-sphere. i’m glad another good seminarian and friend is blogging. i’ll be stopping by regularly. good luck dude.

i think you’ll find it fun and therapeutic in many ways on a personal level. and quite generative by allowing your friends along.

  2. [...] year ago today that I started this little thing. I set out with some wonderful lofty goals in my first post, and I failed at most of them. I didn’t plan on this being something where I would tell people [...]
